Ink Sans was originally a Sans from an incomplete AU in which he was the only one with emotions and it was a mostly empty AU, Ink eventually shredded his soul and escaped his AU, destroying it in the process, but he was emotionless till he felt the paint from the creators and felt emotion, which he later collected and put in vials so he can have emotions. He also usually uses a brush called Broomie or other types of brushes to use his ink powers. He is usually friendly, unless he has no emotions
