While the Bible text is in English, the preface and dedication are in Scots: ‘To the heich and michtie Prince Iames the Sext King of Scottis’. The title page claims ‘royal privilege’, has the Stewart royal coat of arms, and inserts ‘God Save the King’. The Geneva Bible was used in Scottish churches until the late seventeenth century.
