The Gorgons were terrifying monsters. Contrary to popular belief, only Medusa could turn someone into stone, not all of the sisters. When, Medusa was with Poseidon in Athena's temple, she got the worst part of the curse. They were three monstrous sea spirits who's name were Stheno, Euryale, and, the only mortal among the three, Medusa. Medusa was killed by Perseus by cutting off her head.
